Junior and Senior High
The youth ministry of Calvary assists parents by partnering with them in their God-given role of teaching and training their children to (1) know God, (2) cultivate Christ-likeness, (3) apply scriptural truth to daily life, and (4) serve God and others.
Know God
-
God longs for people to know Him (Hosea 6:6).
-
God has revealed Himself to us through creation (Romans 1:18-20), the Person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14, 18), and His infallible Word (John 5:39).
-
Our desire is that our teens have a heart knowledge that knows Him experientially, not just a head knowledge that knows about Him (Jeremiah 9:23-24).
Cultivate Christ-Likeness
-
This is the God-ordained goal for each of His children (Romans 8:29).
-
This can only take place as we abide in Him (John 15:4).
-
Our desire is to help our teens act and think like God wants them to act and think (Philippians 2:5).
Apply Scriptural Truth to Daily Life
-
It is the source for true happiness and wise decision-making (John 13:17; 2 Timothy 3:15).
-
Failure to heed it has devastating consequences (Matthew 7:24-27).
-
Our desire is to see our teens obey God and enjoy His blessing (Joshua 1:8).
Serve God and Others
-
This focus conquers the natural self-centeredness of our age (Philippians 2:20-21).
-
This is a distinguishing mark of leadership (Matthew 20:26-27).
-
Our desire is that God would develop a servant's heart in our teens (Luke 22:27).
