Returning Home Delayed
Dr. Garlock and Missionary Sarah Bennett planned to fly out of Haiti this morning at 7:30 am but the Haitian government blocked their airspace to allow Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to arrive in Port Au Prince. As a result, they missed their connecting flight out of Santo Domingo.

Dr. Frank Garlock Found and Safe
We praise the Lord that Dr. Frank Garlock, Missionary Sara Bennet, and Pastor Dieupie Cherubin of Hosanna Baptist Church in Haiti have been found and are doing well. The specifics of their return to the United States have yet to be determined. We continue to pray for his safe and timely return.
This good news causes us to rejoice with these families. At the same time, we continue to pray for the people of Haiti, our missionary friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who live and minister there.
The picture to the right was taken after Dr. Garlock was found.
Dr. Frank Garlock in Haiti
Dr. Frank Garlock and his wife, Flora Jean, are members of Calvary Baptist Church of Simpsonville. The Garlocks have served here for many years in our music and Sunday school ministries.
Dr. Garlock is President of Majesty Music, a Greenville-based organization that writes, arranges, and publishes Christian music for churches and ministries worldwide. Shelly Hamilton, the Garlocks' daughter, is married to Dr. Ron Hamilton, our Minister of Music. Other members of the Garlock family are part of our church as well.
Dr. Garlock is in Jacmel, Haiti, where he has been speaking for Missions for Haiti. There has been no communication from him or the missionaries he is with since the earthquake Tuesday, January 12, 2010. We are praying for and supporting Dr. Garlock's family as they await word of his condition. Flora Jean is with her family here in the states.
Thank you to the friends around the world who are praying for these who are dear to so many.
The Garlocks are deeply loved by the people of Calvary, and our hearts are with them as they endure this agonizing ordeal. They have been through fiery trials before and have always emerged stronger and more like Christ. Their testimony shines in the darkest of nights.
Our prayer is for Dr. Garlock's safe return, and that he and every member of his family will know they are wrapped in God's loving embrace and led by His strong hand. Dr. Garlock is always "singing His praises." May the Garlock family claim this song as their own today:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof (Psalm 46:1-3).
