Power Up Workshops for Children
SUNDAYS • JUNE 4 – AUGUST 13 • 4:45–6:00 PM
Power Up engages children in interactive and creative workshops that develop their creative skills while teaching them to trust in God’s character and power.
4-5 YEAR-OLDS AND 1st-2nd GRADERS
Children will experience hands-on excitement as they create imaginative crafts,sing energetic songs, play fun games, and hear engaging weekly lessons. There is no cost.
Children in this age-group can select a workshop for the summer. Drop off in the rooms listed below; pick up in Altizer Hall. The cost is $5 for each workshop.
- Introduction to Sewing – Plant the seeds for a love of sewing with an introduction to basic sewing skills! Children will learn to trace, cut fabric & hand sew. This class offers the opportunity to learn practical skills while making fun projects to bring home. Gym 203
- Sign Language for Beginners – Learn to talk with your hands! Children will learn the basics of English signing, learn to sing familiar songs with their hands, and discover how to sign the topic and definition of the week. Gym 201
- Soccer – Children will learn the fundamental skills of dribbling, passing, and teamwork, as well as the rules and regulations of soccer. Children will have a blast learning and practicing soccer skills, gaining hands on practice as they play games throughout the summer. Gym
- Exploring Science – Children enjoy a range of crazy experiments, strange facts, unique science projects and more! Each week the children will experience and participate in a science experiment that relates to the topic for the week. Gym 202
