Ladies Journibles Bible Study
Spring and Summer
The idea for the Journible comes from Deuteronomy 17:18, where God commands the kings of Israel to hand-write their own copy of the Torah, or book of the law. The purpose of this was so that they would carry it with them always, read it, learn from it, and lead the people accordingly. It’s interesting to note that 3400 years later, educators have been discovering that most people learn kinesthetically, by doing or writing things out for themselves.
Join us on Thursday, April 27 at 7 pm as we kick off this study together through Philippians. Bring your Bible with you. This is a new way of studying the Bible by writing God’s words. Together we will discuss the verses from Philippians 1 this first month. You will receive your journal that night. Let this summer be one that transforms you! Journibles are $10, please pay on April 27.
Slow Down and Savor God's Words
Research has shown that at best we retain only 10 percent of what we read. By mid-day most of us have already forgotten what our morning Bible reading consisted of. But Journibles not only forces all of us to slow down and savor God’s words to us, but the sheer act of writing His words helps to impress them more deeply on our souls.
Designed With the Scriptures in Mind
Journibles are beautifully bound, hardback volumes that allow the user to handwrite the Scriptures. Each Journible has pre-formatted, lined and numbered pages on the right side that correspond to the number of chapters and verses for the specific Bible book being ‘scribed’. There is ample space to write each verse with only a few exceptions. On the left page, there is tons of blank line space for the users personal meditations as they scribe the verses. There are occasional thought-provoking questions posed by the creators of the Journible that appear on the left side. One Side Reserved for Personal Journaling The lined journaling (left-hand) side of each Journible has been intentionally left blank, though occasionally there is a question very lightly printed there to guide your thoughts.
By writing out the week’s verses and compiling appropriate questions, members are transformed from passive listeners to invested participators with valuable insights and opinions. You can even record ideas brought out by their peers to explore later.
Linger Over God's Word
Make this the year you linger over God’s word, and let Journibles make that possible.
