Ladies Game Night
July 30, 2021Pizza Fellowship 2021
August 16, 2021In addition to our re|engage marriage program (full), we will also offer evening discipleship classes for adults on Sunday nights at 5:30 pm. The next round begins Sunday, October 17 and will include these two options:
- Comparison of World Religions from a Christian Perspective: David Thomas, 8 weeks, Room 204. The study will discuss the essential features of how the world’s largest religions are different from Christianity. While Christianity centers on a redeeming action which requires no works, other religions are overwhelmingly works-based. The student will find himself staggered at how totally alien many of these religions are to Christianity.
- The Psalms – Divine Guidance for Communion with Christ: Steve Hankins, 6 weeks, Room 205-206. The Psalms are one of the three major literary divisions of the Hebrew Old Testament. In this brief study, we will explore clear references to Christ in them and learn how to better commune with Him through these divinely inspired songs as His disciples.
The classes from the first round (finishing up soon) are:
- Get Out of Your Head: Stopping the Spiral of Toxic Thoughts (Ladies) – Tessa Barron, 10 weeks, Room 117. In her book, Get Out Of Your Head, Jennie Allen draws on biblical truth and recent discoveries to show exactly how we can fight the enemies of the mind with the truth of God. This study will walk through the book week-by-week, discovering truths that can equip us to transform our emotions, our outlook, and even our circumstances by taking control of our thoughts.
- Wisdom in the Age of Technology – Matt Wells, 8 weeks, Room 205-206. Do you want to grow in biblical wisdom in how you handle your smartphone, social media, and other technology? Join us as we walk through biblical principles found in 12 Ways Your Phone Is Changing You by Tony Reinke and other resources to help us navigate this media-saturated age with our eyes fixed on Jesus.
- Genesis: How the Beginning Prepares You for the End – Chase Blankenship, 8 weeks, Room 204. Unfortunately, today’s culture has hijacked the word “blessed” to teach that material prosperity is an indication of God’s stamp of approval on their life. However, the book of Genesis teaches us that the theme of blessing is a rich tapestry of God’s work in the lives of His people for His own glory even in the face of death. After studying the blessing theme in Genesis, believers should have a biblical plan for how to face life’s final stages with peace and for God’s glory.
Join us as we study these practical topics!
