Reading Plan – Weeks 12-16

Advent/Christmas Reading Plan

Though our series in James has concluded, along with our reading plan and 40 Days of Prayer to coincide with it, we’d like to challenge you to continue with us in the Word and take up a special Advent Bible Reading challenge. Author Tony Reinke came up with a plan for a annual reading of the book of Isaiah during the Christmas season. Reading two chapters a day starting today (taking a break for Christmas Day to read Luke 1-2 and New Year’s Eve to read Psalm 90), you can get through the whole book before the end of the year.

Why Isaiah?

The book is filled with predictions about Christ’s first and second coming, including famous prophecies of “Emmanuel” and the “Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace…” Isaiah is also a VERY encouraging book! This time of year, we need fresh reminders of the hope, peace, love, and joy that Jesus brought when He was born as a baby and will bring to completion when He comes again.

So join us in reading Isaiah this Christmas! And continue to pray for yourself and our church in this season, perhaps using the weekly prayer themes to guide your time with God.

Here is the breakdown of readings:
